Mission Houses Museum is a museum developed by the Hawaiian Mission Children’s Society in 1920. It can be found at the 553 South King Street. The museum was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Christian missionaries’ arrival in Hawaii. The Christian missionaries who arrived at the island in the early days originally built the mission. It is a historic landmark registered under the name Kawaiahao Church and Mission Houses. It was listed as a historic site at the National Register of Historic Places.

The Mission Houses Museum offers a wide range of exhibitions including documents, artifacts and etc. Most of the artifacts are dated in between 1820 – 1863. The artifacts are exhibited for various purposes such as educational and public purposes. There are more than 3,000 artifacts in the museum. The artifacts are collected from different places including Hawaii, Western countries and Pacific Islands. There are over twelve thousand artifacts at the museum. The museum is open in between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday. The cost of the admission fee to the Mission House Museum is $10. Discount for the admission fee is available to students, old people, and soldiers in the military unit.

There are several types of houses you can see at the Mission Houses Museum including Oldest Frame House, Chamberlain House, and Print House. Materials transported by a ship from Boston in 1821 built the Oldest Frame House, also called Ka Hale L??au wooden house. The materials are measured according to the right proportions. They are readily cut and can be used to assemble a frame house. The Oldest Frame House features New England architecture style. The small windows ensure that the heat will be kept inside. Daniel Chamberlain and his family originally occupied the house. The house was home to more than 5 missionary families. Sometimes, sailors and orphans who have become ill will come to stay at the Mission Houses Museum. The parlor in the house is used as a school house. The dining hall is situated in the basement. The cookhouse is situated in a different building than the Oldest Frame House.

The Chamberlain House, also called Ka Hale Kamalani, was built from coral blocks. Levi Chamberlain designed the house. The house has room for storing the supplies and people. The Chamberlain House is a two storey house equipped with an attic and cellar. There are a larger number of windows in the Chamberlain House compare to the Mission Houses Museum.

The Print House is the additional coral building located next to the frame house. It shows how the early missionaries work with the local Hawaiians to produce the first printed materials.

Vacation is no longer about what you can do to relax, instead it is more about fulfilling that short window of time with things to do to enjoy yourself. Your ideal trip to Hawaii should be no different. In your itinerary, along with finishing that novel you’ve pushed aside several times during the year because you were too busy and those 9 hours of sleep you never seem to get, there should also be the inclusion of 10 things. Here it is!

Get Laid: No wait, leid. There is a difference. Getting leid is a customary tradition when you get off that plane and begin your Hawaiian vacation so obviously this should be the first thing you do on your list. Along with pleasant Aloha, you get a beautiful floral necklace. What could be a better way to begin your journey to paradise?

Luau: You can’t say you’ve been to Hawaii without experiencing a traditionally danced island luau. More specifically an authentic island luau. Some of the most amazing sites and sounds can be enjoyed from you just sitting at your table. You watch islanders dance, tell stories through movement, and present to you a variety of different skills. Enjoy!

Pearl Harbor: Well, as long as you’re here, you might as well get a history lesson in there too. Your brain has to stay stimulated after all. Too much fun can be dangerous. But wait, Pearl Harbor is fun. From this simple visit, you can see a landmark, explore secluded waterfalls, striking beaches, and much, much more.

Yellow Submarine: Hawaii features one of the world’s largest submarines. It is named Atlantis XIV. On this 48-passenger ride, you can go exploring beneath the water’s surface, descending as deep as 100 feet!

Dolphins: Hawaii also offers snorkeling with dolphins. Wouldn’t it be fun if you could tell your friends you swam and played with dolphins? Exactly so allow this trip to let you explore and experience new things. In the midst of crystal clear water and the eager squeaks of dolphins, you sure to have some fun.

Surf’s Up: Surfing is truly the most “Hawaiian” thing to do on this list of activities. There is a school available where you can take lessons to prepare for your surfing. But if you’re already levels ahead of them and ready to get into the water, do it! Hawaii offers a multitude of excellent surfing waves.

Do You Believe in Magic: As a part of its nightlife, Hawaii offers Magic of Polynesia where audiences are awestruck by world class illusions performed by acclaimed illusionist John Hirokawa. Prepare to be dazzled! Waterfall

Hide-A-Way: Hawaii gives to its visitors the gift of beautiful sites. This is not short of plenty of waterfalls. Hike your way up to a secluded waterfall and get lost in the majestic sight of the water and serene sounds as it falls into the water beneath it. Tours are offered to a variety of different waterfalls, but waterfalls can also be found via the internet and explored on your own time.

Shark Attack: Hawaii Shark Adventures will allow you the once in a lifetime experience to get inches close to a shark without being in any real harm or danger. This is an experience that should be taken advantage of. The thrill of it all will surely provide you with an amazing adrenaline rush.

Kayaking Adventure: Taking a kayak anywhere is also a must. Mokulua Kayak Tours is Hawaii’s way of provided guests and residents alike with an inventive way to explore the island’s beautiful waters and some of its most hidden beaches.
